SEIGFRIED RACING BODIES ANNOUNCES CAR SHOW
AWARD SPONSORSHIP
Laudan Seigfried of Seigfried Racing Bodies announced at the BASH Racing Movie
Party on Friday night, that they will be sponsoring the Best of Show Award at
the 2007 Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show. Seigfried won the Best of Show Award
for five consecutive years and announced Friday that he will retire from
competition for this award. Instead, Seigfried will be the sponsor of the award.
Seigfried Racing Bodies will also post $100 in cash to go to the Award winner in
2007.
"I want to do something to try and get more people to do a display to get more
exposure for their race teams and sponsors", said Seigfried. Reading racing
history goes deep in the Seigfried family as Laudans grandfather, Laudan Potts
was a five time winner at the half-mile oval and one of the most popular and
well liked drivers.
"This is an outstanding gesture on behalf of Laudan and a true act of
sportsmanship", commented event organizer Bob Miller. Exhibitors are encouraged
to plan their displays early. If additional space is required for your display
next year, please advise when you register and we will plan accordingly.
21st ANNUAL READING RACING REUNION & CAR
SHOW ENDS WEEK LONG RUN
The NAPA Auto Parts/COMDIAL Telephone Communications Reading Racing Reunion &
Car Show ended a very successful week long run at the Fairgrounds Square Mall in
Reading, PA. Merchants and exhibitors as well, rank this years event as one of
the busiest in recent years. The 21st edition of the show opened on Sunday,
February 26 and ran through Saturday, March 4. A total of one-hundred and
twenty-three race cars of various divisions filled the Fairgrounds Square Mall.
Special events presented during the week included the RSCA Historical Society
Display, a Salute to Glenn Fitzcharles, the introduction of the URC STAR WARS 4,
the Gasoline Alley Live Radio broadcast, Kenny Brightbill Night, Chad Sinon and
BPG BIG 3 Thursday Night Entertainment and the always popular, Friday night
Legend's of Racing Reunion with Warren Ruffner as the Master of Ceremonies.
The event supported charities that include the American Cancer Society and the
Easter Seals. The 2007 event has a tentative date of February 25th to March 3
and this date is expected to be confirmed by the end of the week when estimated
attendance figures for this years event are expected to be announced.
One car on display that did steal the show was the original #19 Pinto driven by
Kenny Brightbill in the late 1970's. The car was displayed in its original
condition (not restored) and still carried some of the Reading Speedway dirt.
Although it looked a tad battle-worn and a bit rusty, but this car touched the
inner emotions of anyone who fondly remembers this car circling the Reading
Fairgrounds half-mile speedway.
BC-TV was certainly visible at the NAPA/Berks Auto Parts BASH Racing Movie Party
thanks to Michael Pahl of the Shillington, PA based NAPA store. BC-TV taped all
the Car Show award presentations and interviewed as many as twenty-five
different drivers for the AutoMotionTV program which will air throughout the
month of March.
Car Show award winners were acknowledged with Michael Pahl making the award
presentations. The Best Appearing Go-Kart was awarded to Dakota Kohler, the Best
Appearing Quarter Midget award went to the #121 of Tyler Fisher. Winning the
Best Appearing Micro Sprint Award was the #8 of Phil Griffith with the Bill
Wharton owned 7B taking the Best Appearing Late Model Award. There were two
awards for the Best Appearing Open Cockpit with the Mega Motorsports Champ Car
(wingless) and the Dave Cordier 410 sprint taking top honors. Winning the Best
Appearing Modified was the #78 driven by Barry Burkhart with Archie Myers #111
taking the Best Appearing Restored race car.
For the fifth consecutive season, Laudan Seigfried and his #99X Late Model
earned the best display of the show but had to share this title with co-winner
Brett Gilmore and his #00 Go-Kart Display. Seigfried announced that he will
display in the show next year, however, he will retire from competition for the
Best Display of the Show. Instead, Seigfried will take the role as the award
sponsor and he pay $100 to the winner of the 2007 Best Display of the Show.
If you were unable to attend the event and are looking for a copy of the Reading
Racing Reunion & Car Show Program Book or an event t-shirt, please contact Joe
Wylezik at: Jhcuda@verizon.net. The
Program Book is just $3 and is filled with photos of Readings great past. The
event shirt is $18 and showcases the A.T. Consoli #54, the Kenny Brightbill #19
Pinot and the Glenn Fitzcharles R-10. The back of the shirt shows a black &
white photo of the Reading Fairgrounds grandstands, a USAC sprint car and photo
of the Voice of the RSCA, Warren Ruffner. The shirt was designed by Bill Hilbert
Sportswear and is truly a collectors item.
Special thanks are extended to the Fairgrounds Square Mall for their outstanding
cooperation and support of the Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show. Within the
next week, event organizers Bob and Donna Miller will announce the confirmed
dates for the 2007 show.

Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show to take place at the Fairgrounds Square Mall
in Reading, PA. This huge auto racing show will open on Sunday, February 26 and

the ARDC Midgets that will be on display at the upcoming Reading Racing Reunion
& Car Show belong to the Two Dogs Racing Team. One of those "Dogs" is Donnie
Trent of Honeybrook, PA. Trent will have his new Spike Chassis, Gaerte-powered
no. 18 at Fairgrounds Square during the week-long show. The car was assembled
over the winter, and has already been in competition at the 20th Annual
O'Reilly's Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK.
Trent captured three ARDC main events last season, raising his career total to
five. A constant top-ten finisher in the point standings, this veteran midget
chauffeur feels that his new Spike Chassis will make him a championship
